MySejahtera New Infectous Disease Tracker Comes In Handy For HFMD Warnings

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has informed the public via his tweeter feed that the MySejahtera health app has been updated with a new feature that can inform the user if the area is a red zone with an infectious disease present.

With the Infectious Disease Tracker feature, the public can be warned in advance of a hotspot that is currently under the surveillance of an outbreak like a hand, foot, and mouth disease. The disease predominantly affects children and can spread easily in common areas like playgrounds, kindergartens, or schools.

Since the easing of SOP, the requirement for checking in or out using the MySejahtera app is no longer necessary however the Health Ministry is looking at ways to make the app an Omni healthcare solution that can be useful to monitor health situations and at the same time offer timely alert to users.

Despite the unwanted controversy surrounding the proprietors of the application, the use of MySejahtera has helped the government in bringing Covid-19 under management and control the spread of the disease from escalating.
