Scomi Enters Into MOU To Develop Renewable Energy Programme In TVET Campus In Johore

Scomi SGSB Sdn Bhd (Scomi SGSB), a company in which Scomi Group Bhd has 51% and Skill Johor Sdn Bhd (SJSB) executed a MOU to develop a Renewable Energy (“RE”) generation program in SJSB’s TVET Campus located at Johor.

SCOMI SGSB and SJSB will exclusively collaborate with each other for the implementation of the Proposal which includes but not limited to the following which includes Implementation of Phase 1 of the rooftop Solar PV System with the capacity of 1.18MWp (“Project”); finalisng  engineering design and layout of the Solar PV System and conducting ct Power System Study (“PSS”)

In a Bursa filing, It said that installation of the Solar PV System works can only commence once the Campus is operational which is scheduled to be between Q4 2023 to Q1 2024.

 The collaboration will be commencing from the date of the MOU (“Effective Date”) for a period of twenty-four (24) months subject to any extended period to be mutually agreed in writing by the Parties and the Parties shall execute a formal agreement for the execution of the Project (“Letter of Award”), sixty days before the opening of the Campus.

It said that the rationale of the MOU is to develop a RE generation program in SJSB’s TVET Campus located at Johor with SCOMI SGSB providing the installation, testing, and commissioning of the Solar PV System.
