A Tussle of Bears and Bulls for Asian Stocks Amid Recession Fears and Improved Trade Relations

Kuala Lumpur, July 5 – Bursa Malaysia closed in tight ranged on Tuesday, as the barometer index only moved up slightly by 0.23%. Trading volume remained anemic at best. As expected the KLCI is expected to trade in range-bound with the intersperse of selling pressure and dip-buying. Meanwhile, the Asian stock markets closed mixed as the sentiment remained cautiously optimistic. The US-China trade ties might be heading for better tie, at least for now, which in turn favor the market sentiment as it can be seen by the comments of the Vice Premier of China, LiuHe. The Australian stock market closed higher on Tuesday, extending the gains in the previous session, lifted largely by gold miners, energy and technology. Market participants await the RBA’s policy on Tuesday, the central bank is expected to deliver another half-point rate increase.
