Greenpacket To Acquire 20% Stake In eMedAsia From HS Bio For RM20 Million

Green Packet Berhad is looking to acquire 6,000 ordinary shares in eMedAsia Sdn Bhd from HS Bio Sdn Bhd for a purchase consideration of RM20 million.

The purchase will equate to 20% stake in the company, which is an 80% owned subsidiary of HS Bio in partnership with Koperasi Persatuan Perubatan Malaysia Berhad. KOOP MMA is an investment vehicle of the Malaysian Medical Association. MMA is the main representative body for registered medical practitioners in Malaysia. KOOP MMA and MMA are working closely to digitalise the country’s primary healthcare and to empower potentially more than 8,000 private clinics in
the country to leverage their digital healthcare platform technology to procure medicine, provide telemedicine services, and access other healthcare-related services through

eMedAsia currently operates a digital healthcare platform that provides online clinic appointments, health screening bookings, and an e-commerce marketplace with the e-payment gateway system for clinics to purchase pharmaceutical, medical and healthcare supplies. There are currently approximately 2,500 member clinics in Malaysia that have registered with eMedAsia’s digital healthcare platform. As of to-date, the paid-up capital of eMedAsia is RM10,410,000 comprising 30,000 ordinary shares.

Greenpacket believes it can tap into the healthcare sector via the acquisition, eMedAsia operates a digital healthcare platform that aims to digitalise private healthcare via technology solutions. Key synergy focuses on extending the group’s fintech offerings and eKYC solutions to the digital healthcare sector, and the potential customer base of eMedAsia for the Group’s future business expansion.
