Salcon Awarded RM209.9 Million Contract By PAAB For Water Treatment Project

Salcon Berhad announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Salcon Engineering Berhad, has been awarded Package 3 – for the water treatment plant in Langat by PAAB.

The Cadangan Reka dan Bina Sistem Pelupusan Enapcemar Untuk Loji Rawatan Air Langat 2 project by Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad is estimated to be valued at RM209.9 million.

The scope of the project is to design and build a residual conveyance and disposal system for Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant which includes a pipe conveyor of approximately 2000m long from the plant to the residual storage shelter (near Bukit Enggang Balancing Reservoir). The project forms part of the Proposed Development of Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant and Water Reticulation System in Selangor Darul Ehsan / Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.  Salcon, in 2020 successfully completed the 1,130 Million Litres per Day Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant.

“The award of the project is the testament of the solid confidence that PAAB as client has in Salcon’s strong track record and expertise in the local water industry and we are confident of carrying out the project to successful completion,” said Jamiluddin Amini Sulaiman, Chief Operating Officer of Salcon Engineering Berhad.

The project, to be undertaken over the next 27 months is expected to be completed in January 2025 and will contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of Salcon Group for the financial years ending 31 December 2023 to 2025.
