Putrajaya City Council To Establish Smart Sustainable City Innovation Hub With Petronas

Perbadanan Putrajaya and Petronas Global Technical Solutions Sdn. Bhd will be working together to establish the Putrajaya Smart Sustainable City Innovation Hub, a centralised venue for local entrepreneurs to cooperate and develop smart city solutions under the Putrajaya Smart City Blueprint.

Both parties will cooperate in an effort to make Putrajaya a smart city solutions development innovation hub and commercialisation of home-grown smart city solutions.

The MoUs will focus on areas such as Infrastructure & Building, Mobility, Environment, Security, Digital Citizen, and Leadership & Capability Development. The parties have also agreed to jointly conduct research on innovative solutions for smart city leveraging both organisations’ expertise and facilities.

The Putrajaya Smart Sustainable City Innovation Hub brings in a collaborative network for innovation to leverage economic opportunities for Malaysian-made smart city solutions. This is achieved by creating a path for innovation in four key strategic pillars – Digital Transformation & Operational Excellence, Sustainability, Circular Economy & Emission Management, Cyber Security and National Entrepreneur & Capability Development.

In the Innovation Hub, PPj and PGTSSB will jointly select outstanding local start-ups and technology companies through an open approach, to implement their solution in an acceptable scale at Putrajaya as the Living Lab before it goes into commercialisation.

The collaboration is in line with Putrajaya Smart City Blueprint (2018-2025) under Smart Economy domain and consistent with National Digital Economy Policy 2025, National Fourth Industry Revolution 2030, and MySmart Wilayah 2030.

he Innovation Hub may help other cities to reduce the cost of owning Smart City solutions and be able to quickly deploy, supply, and scale Smart City solutions in a city.
