Asian Stocks Closed Mixed, Nikkei 225 Surged After BoJ Left Rate Unchanged

Kuala Lumpur, Nov 8 – Bursa Malaysia ended the day in flattish manner with the barometer index FBM KLCI down marginally by 0.77 of a point or -0.05% at 1,441.35.

The Asian bourses ended mixed as investors wait for the result of the U.S. midterm elections.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 Index surged 1.25% after the news suggesting an absence of stealth intervention by Japan in the third quarter seemed to have injected the push in the bulls. The BoJ released a summary of opinions from its monetary policy meeting in October, when it left interest rates unchanged while global peers took on jumbo rate hikes.

The recent optimism could be traced back to the receding fears of the US Federal Reserve’s aggressive rate hikes and China’s stimulus measures for pushing higher private investment.
