Charged-Up FBM KLCI Surged by 1.04%, Driven by Upbeat 3Q GDP Data

Bursa Malaysia ended the Friday morning session in a bullish note, with the FBM KLCI jumped 15.09 points or 1.04% to 1,464.83 as compared to Thursday’s closing of 1,449.74.

The upbeat tone could be attributed to the positive third quarter 2022 gross domestic product (GDP) figures released today.

For market breadth was overwhelmingly positive with gainers outweighed decliners 571 to 234, while 366 counters were unchanged.

Meanwhile, trading volume and value were registered at 1.98 billion units and RM1.11 billion, respectively.

To recap, the main index opened opened higher by 17.45 points at 1,467.19. It oscillated between the range of 1,459.54 and 1,467.83 throughout the Friday morning session.

Top five gainers of the morning session were Malaysian Pacific Industries, Hextar Tecnologies, Nestle Malaysia, Fraser & Neave, Greatech Technology.

Whilst top five decliners were HSI-HE8, HSI-HKU, HSI-HEI, SP500-H19, HSI-HE9

Top five active were Top Glove, Advance Synergy, XOX, Careplus, Hong Seng Consolidated.
