Asian Bourses Ended in Mixed Whilst FBM KLCI Gained 0.39% Higher

Kuala Lumpur, January 17 – Bursa Malaysia closed in bullish note on Tuesday with the FBM KLCI climbed 5.82 points or +0.39% at 1,499.38. Reversed its earlier negative movement, the main index shrugged off earlier losses and trended northward into the positive territory.

The index was lifted by buying interest on selected heavyweights towards the end of the trading day.

Meanwhile, Asian stocks markets ended mixed amidst respective developments, as market participants remain cautious as US Treasury yields have extended their gains on early Tuesday.

Japanese bourse led the gains in the region as it snapped the losing streak and jumped 1.23% today. Reversed the losses made yesterday. The volatility in the Japanese equities was anticipated as uncertainty for the Bank of Japan (BOJ)’s first monetary policy of 2023 is high. Investors are keenly waiting for a commentary on the expression of exit from decade-long ultra-loose monetary policy.

China’s Shanghai SSE Composite dropped a mere 0.1% whilst Hong Kong’s HSI shed 0.78% after the news on the economic growth of China was printed at a mere 3%. However, the HSI was down due to profit-taking activities after a sharp bullish movement for these 2 months.
