Breaking: German President Steinmeier Will Make A State Visit to Malaysia in February

According to the official website of Bundespraesident, President of Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier will make a state visit to Malaysia.

The German President Steinmeier will travel on to Malaysia on the evening of February 15, 2023. His first stop will be in Penang. In Penang, President Steinmeier will visit the semiconductor manufacturer Infineon and the medical technology specialist B. Braun and exchange views with trainees and trainers from the first German master class outside of Germany to become an industrial master craftsman in mechatronics.

In Kuala Lumpur, the German President will hold talks with Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Shah and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. In addition, a business roundtable with German and Malaysian entrepreneurs and an expert discussion on current challenges of global security and economic policy are planned.

The final stop in Malaysia will take the Federal President to the state of Sarawak in East Malaysia, whose rainforests are home to a unique variety of species. The German President will pay a visit the Sarawak Biodiversity Center and finds out about the threat and protective measures to preserve regional and global biodiversity. A guided tour by local and international experts through the diverse ecosystems as well as the flora and fauna is planned in one of Sarawak's national parks.
