Bursa Malaysia ended the morning session mixed as mild selling activities weighed on the overall market breadth.
Nevertheless, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) managed to stay in positive territory, aided mainly by Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd.
At 12.30pm, the benchmark index rose 4.71 points to 1,401.31 compared to Monday’s close of 1,396.6.
The market bellwether, which opened five points higher at 1,401.6, moved between 1,398.42 and 1,403.23 during the session.
Decliners outpaced gainers 401 to 258, while 417 counters were unchanged, 1,220 untraded and 24 others suspended.
Turnover amounted to 1.46 billion units valued at RM666 million.
