Meanwhile, Teo said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has so far never received any complaints from any party regarding the existence of eye-catching advertisements displayed through advertisements in online news portals.

“It is true that there are various types of advertisements that appear in cyberspace and some of them are not suitable or do not want to be seen by some people. Therefore, the public is advised to take care of their personal information and avoid clicking on suspicious advertisements. This is because the more often indecent ads are clicked, the higher the risk of such ads being offered,” he said.

He also asked the public to come forward and make a complaint to the MCMC or the

Communications And Multimedia Content Forum Of Malaysia (CMCF), if there are such advertisements on the websites that are being browsed.
