MN Holdings Wins Contract Worth RM13.3 Million For Two Johor-based Data Centres

Underground utilities and substation engineering specialist MN Holdings Bhd (MN Holdings) has secured one underground utilities contract worth RM13.3 million in Johor.
The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Mutu Nusantara Sdn Bhd (Mutu Nusantara) has accepted a letter of award from Rentak Segar Sdn Bhd, appointing it to be the subcontractor to supply and install high voltage underground cable works for two data centres in Johor.

For the first datacenter routing, Mutu Nusantara will supply and install 132 kilovolts double circuit cross-linked polyethylene underground cable from transmission main intake (PMU) Financial Centre to GDS Data Centre substation for GDS Services Ltd.

The second data centre routing will see Mutu Nusantara supply and install 275 kilovolts double circuit cross-linked polyethylene underground cable from PMU Sedenak to Yellowwood Data Centre.

MN Holdings Executive Director Dato’ Clement Toh said the latest contract win will further strengthen the company’s technical know-how on construction and engineering of utility infrastructure for a data centre.

“This is not our maiden construction and engineering contract for the data centre. MN Holdings had in October 2022 awarded RM22.5 million substation engineering contract to design, supply, install, maintain, test and commission 132 kilovolts and 33 kilovolts interim consumer landing station for GDS data centre,” he said.

“Recently, the company had on 1 April 2023 entered into a memorandum of understanding with Shanghai DC-Science Co Ltd to develop its first high-performance data centre in Malaysia,” he added.

With these new wins, MN Holdings has successfully increased its outstanding order book to RM332.7 million.

The contract is expected to contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of the company for the financial year ended 30 June 2023 and financial year ended 30 June 2024 as well as to the future earnings and net assets per share of the group during the duration of the contract. The contract is expected to be completed in 319 days from the commencement date.
