In conjunction with Aidilfitri and goody handouts by the Prime Minister who announced free tolls and extra holidays, the government is also giving substantial discounts on police traffic summon

During his live televised announcement today, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the special summons fee rate for all Royal Malaysian Police traffic summonses from April 21 to May 21, can be settled immediately at a rate of RM50. As generous as this is, however, offenders should take heed that this does not apply to summons issued this year. In addition, PDRM said it is committed to continue ensuring road safety at an optimal level, especially during the festive season. “To ensure smooth travel in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri, PDRM implemented Op Lancar on April 18 and 19 by focusing on routes that are expected to experience congestion.

According to Anwar, Op Selamat 20 will be implemented from April 20 for a period of seven days themed ‘Safe Home, Safe to Destination’. PDRM will also work with other agencies including RELA and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM) to ensure that ‘hotspots’ routes such as entrances and exits at toll plazas, do not experience traffic congestion,” he said.
