Commentary: Reshaping The National Narrative Remains A WIP For All Malaysians

Malaysia, along with nations globally, had to face the brunt of many black swan events over the last few years. As a result, people’s and investors’ confidence in the future has been fluid, volatile and at times, mired by fear.

Fear stems from one’s way of life and past achievements fading into irrelevance. Fear that we would never go back to “the way they were”.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently said: “Throughout history, many nations have suffered a physical defeat, but that has never marked the end of a nation. But when a nation has become the victim of a psychological defeat, then that marks the end of a nation.”

The people need to be constantly secure that their daily lives are safeguarded by the nation’s laws and policies of good governance.

We may be a relatively young nation, but our path to political and democratic maturity has been a steep yet steady climb, especially within the last decade.

The reshaping of the Malaysian narrative is a continuous work-in-progress. I strongly believe that in building Malaysia MADANI, the greatest barrier to progress lies within us.

practical and pragmatic first step, is to largely maintain the level overall spending. However, allocations have been strategically readjusted to better serve the nation and rebuild the critical core and aspirations of Malaysian society at large

Sensibly, one must build, secure and enable the ladders that will help the nation escape the middle-income trap, and for those at the very bottom, help them climb out of the despair of poverty. Without this, all is in vain.

We all want progress and success for our country. However, to achieve that goal, we need to implement a strong and proactive culture of innovation. This is the core of Malaysia’s success which is advanced and highly competitive at the global level.

Through innovation in various fields such as healthcare, education, and technology, Malaysia is able to achieve significant progress and provide great benefits to the people.

This also includes sustainable development initiatives, such as renewable energy and conservation efforts, which promote environmental sustainability and improve quality of life.

We can also see how the culture of innovation brings benefits to the business sector and the economy. This is proof that the culture of innovation is capable of bringing great changes and providing new opportunities for the success and prosperity of our country.

Therefore, let us continue to encourage a culture of innovation in every aspect of life, and ensure that Malaysia continues to move forward with confidence and strength to achieve glorious goals, says Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli, in a recent tweet.
