Shell Expects First Gas From Rosmari-Marjoram Project By End 2026

The first gas from the Rosmari-Marjoram project by Sarawak Shell Bhd, a subsidiary of Shell Plc in collaboration with Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd in Bintulu, is expected to be produced towards the end of 2026.

Shell Malaysia country chair Siti Sulaiman said the project is expected to produce about 800 million standard cubic feet of gas per day.

“This is one of the biggest Shell project in Malaysia and it is going to be a big progress for Sarawak’s upstream oil and gas business,” she said. She also said that the Shell headquarters, currently located at Lutong, will be moved to Miri Times Square by the end of this year.

“That is going to be our Miri headquarters for Sabah and Sarawak. Recently, we have consolidated some (members) of the technical team from Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu to Miri. This means our footprint in Miri now is a lot bigger than before,” she said.

The Rosmari-Marjoram project is situated 220km off the coast of Bintulu in Sarawak and has a 207km pipeline to onshore, and an onshore gas plant which would help ensure a sustained gas supply to the Petronas LNG Complex in Bintulu.
