PRG Holdings Appoints Bank Negara Director Datin Arlina Ariff To The Board

PRG Holdings Berhad has announced the appointment Datin Arlina Ariff as its Independent and Non-Executive Director with effect from April 20, 2023.

In a filing to Bursa the company highlighted that Datin Arlina has over 25 years of extensive experience in the banking, finance, and economics industries and served in Bank Negara for 22 years, from September 2000 to July 2022.

Before joining PRG, Datin Arlina held the position of Director of the Financial Inclusion Department of Bank Negara Malaysia, responsible for ensuring access to financial services to various segments of society. This included ensuring access to financing, financial services, financial redress, and financial information for the general public.

During her tenure at Bank Negara, Datin Arlina served in several other departments, including the Human Capital Development Centre, the Economics Department, and the Monetary Analysis & Strategy Department.

Commenting on Datin Arlina’s appointment, PRG Group Executive Vice Chairman Dato’ Lua Choon Hann said, “We warmly welcome Datin Arlina Ariff to our board. She brings significant value to this position with her wealth of public and private sector experience and senior roles in the Malaysian banking and finance sector. Her talent and experience make her an accomplished business leader, and we look forward to her contributions to PRG.”

PRG is primarily engaged in the property development, construction, manufacturing, and agriculture businesses. The company also expanded into the Energy Efficiency business by acquiring Singapore-based Energy Solution Global Limited, a new energy savings company, in 2021 through its 50.45%-owned subsidiary, Furniweb Holdings Limited.
