14 Sunway College Cambridge GCE ‘A’ Level programme students were recently recognised at the Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards Ceremony receiving 15 awards including Top in the World, Top in Malaysia, High Achievement and First place in Malaysia.
Goh Kai Jet received the first place best across three in Malaysia for Cambridge International A-Level. Kai Jet felt glad and fulfilled for receiving the recognition as his hard work had paid off.
“I am fortunate to be surrounded by like-minded peers who are both driven and supportive and receiving guidance from dedicated lecturers all of whom are extremely experienced and insightful at Sunway College,” shared Kai Jet, who is also a Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship recipient.
A tech enthusiast, Kai Jet is planning to pursue a degree in Computer Science as he finds enjoyment and thrill in problem-solving. “Computer science, to me is the perfect blend between theory and practicality that enables me to apply my interest in problem-solving to bring tangible results that benefit the world.”
Receiving the first place best across four in Malaysia was Chow Yue Yao and recipients for the High Achievement award were Wong Weng Yan for Chinese Language; Shane You Jing Mcaleavey for History; and Lee Han Shin for Thinking Skills.
Recognised as the Top in the World award recipients were Alistair Fang Ming Yi for Economics; Cheng Kai Xuan and Chaang Tze Shen Tristan for Further Mathematics; and Choo Kye Yong, Eunice Gwee Wan Xin and Matthew Teh Yan Chuan for Mathematics.
Awarded the Top in Malaysia awards were Lee Wen Chong for Chemistry; Cheng Kai Xuan for Physics; Jessica Gan Yee Mei for Psychology; and Lim Xi Yun for Literature in English.
