Chef Pannier Unveils New Masterpieces At The Mandarin Cake Shop

The epitome of luxury and gastronomy in the heart of KL, is delighted to present a range of enticing new creations at the Mandarin Cake Shop, led by Executive Pastry Chef, Kevin Pannier.

Chef Pannier is a classically trained French Pastry Chef with over 18 years of experience, excelling in creating flavours that showcase a balance of flavours using a variety of ingredients to ensure the perfect bite of cake. Having begun his passion for pastries in his kitchen, helping his parents prepare decadent desserts with traditional French techniques.

Chef Pannier has curated an enticing menu of new creations that showcase his passion for blending flavours and textures in the most delightful way. Among the highlights are:

Vanilla Strawberry St Honoré: Inspired by Rue Saint Honore, where Mandarin Oriental Paris is located, this cake features a flaky caramelised puff pastry crust, choux pastry studded with crumble, Tahitian vanilla cream topped with homegrown Cameron Highland Chitose strawberries. It is also one of the most popular desserts in France.

Paris Nice: An alliance between chocolate and milk, this dessert is made with dacquoise biscuit with crunchy hazelnuts, crisp hazelnuts, thin wafers of milk chocolate, dark chocolate cream, and milk chocolate Chantilly

Kalamansi Pie: True to the flavours of Malaysia, the Kalamansi Pie has a sweet thin crust, dacquoise biscuit with crunchy hazelnuts, kalamansi cream, citrus gel.

Chocolate Heritage: A layer of chocolate cake made with Malaysian house-made chocolate cremeux, cocoa nibs crisp & 70% dark chocolate bavaroise. The cocoa used is locally and sustainably sourced from Pahang, Malaysia.
