With the election day set for 12 August which is a Saturday, there have been talks or rather requests by voters for the Selangor MB to announce a special holiday on Friday for voters to return to vote, however, this has been snuffed.
Dato Amirudin Shari when asked on the matter, said he believes it involves the implication of wages or financial consideration to the public and private sectors when Malaysia’s economy is just recovering.
“The state election has long been planned, and I am confident the people would have made plans as most of the voters are around the Klang Valley, and the journey will only take one to two hours,” he added.
The state election is being carried out across six states, Selangor, N Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Penang.
