PH-BN Takes Negeri Sembilan With A 19 Seat Simple Majority

The Pakatan Harapan – Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) pact trounced Perikatan Nasional (PN) in the Negeri Sembilan State Elections by securing more than half of the 36 seats in the state legislative assembly.

The coalition of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) defended Negeri Sembilan in the State Election, after obtaining a simple majority of 19 seats based on data from the Election Commission’s results at 10.12 tonight.

The PH-BN pairing, controls the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) seats in Chennah, Pertang, Sungai Lui, Bahau, Lenggeng, Lobak, Temiang, Sikamat, Seri Menanti, Senaling, Pilah, Johol, Chembong, Kota, Chuah, Lukut, Sri Tanjung , Gemencheh and Repah, out of a total of 36 seats.

Meanwhile, Perikatan Nasional (PN) won three seats namely Serting, Bagan Pinang and Gemas.

The State Assembly of Negeri Sembilan was dissolved last July 1 after getting the approval of the Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir.

In GE14, PH controlled 20 seats, namely DAP with 11 seats with PKR (six) and Amanah (three), while BN won 16 seats, namely UMNO (15) and MIC one seat.

Voter turn out was at 62% of 864,425 voters.
