Nextgreen Global JV Completes Factory Converting Palm Pulp To Packaging Materials

Nextgreen Global Berhad said it has completed the construction of its factory for the manufacturing of pulp moulding from empty fruit bunch. With this, NGCP commenced trial production of the food-grade empty fruit bunch pulp moulding today, whereby the manufacturing process is carried out in a clean room.

NGCP’s factory is located at NGGB’s Green Technology Park (GTP) in Pekan, Pahang, and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology in the conversion of oil palm empty fruit bunches into pulp and paper. The factory has a total built-up area of 14,780 square feet and is capable of producing 4 million units of pulp moulding.

NGCP is a joint venture company incorporated in July 2020 between NGGB and Crown Package Co. Ltd. from Japan with the purpose of manufacturing and selling pulp moulding made from empty fruit bunch, and selling packaging materials to Japan.

Managing director Dato’ Lim Thiam Huat said, “We are delighted to complete construction of our pulp moulding factory and begin trial production. It has taken me many years of research to uncover the potential of an empty fruit bunch and I am pleased that it is bearing fruit. We have been working closely with Crown over the years. We are confident this successful joint venture will contribute positively to NGGB.”
