Islamic Economy Sector Expected To Reach Global Value Of US$7.7 Trillion By 2025

The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) through the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) is for the first time organising the Islamic Digital Economy Industry Conference (IDE) 2023 to foster collaboration with key stakeholders in the Islamic digital economy sector.

IDE is one of the important sectors in the inclusive distribution of wealth and resources in line with the vision of Malaysia MADANI.

IDE is also one of the nine main focus areas under the national strategic initiative, Malaysia Digital (MD) in helping MDEC ensure the right direction through the Malaysia Digital Catalyst Program (PEMANGKIN).

Malaysia remains the leader of the Global Islamic Economic Indicator (GIEI) for nine consecutive years, driven by a rapid halal ecosystem in the Islamic financial sector, the halal food-pharmaceutical-cosmetic industry, Muslim-friendly tourism, media and recreation. This Islamic economic sector is expected to reach a global value of US$7.7 trillion by 2025.

This effort is intensified through the involvement of companies with MD status that will be assisted by MDEC in collaboration with ecosystem partners.
