M K Land Celebrates Operational Milestone Of 10.95 Megawatt For PV Project

M K Land Holdings Berhad (M K Land) through its subsidiary Solar Citra Sdn. Bhd., recently celebrated the achievement of commercial operation for a 10.95-megawatt (MW) large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plant under the first LSS4 scheme in the state of Perak.

This project is part of the fourth cycle of the Large-Scale Solar 4 (LSS4) programme approved by the Energy Commission and was developed in collaboration with Solarvest Holdings Berhad as the main contractor, providing engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC) solutions, and GoodWe Technologies Co., Ltd. (GoodWe) as the solar power solutions provider for this project.

Solar Citra Director Kamarulzaman Abu Bakar mentioned that with the successful operation of M K Land’s 10.95 MW large-scale solar power plant in Lembah Beriah, located in the District of Kerian, Perak, the project was completed more than seven months ahead of schedule.

“This solar PV power plant will provide a continuous stream of revenue to the M K Land Group, stemming from the sale of solar electricity to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). With a four-year extension of the solar power purchase agreement (SPPA), extending the total duration to 25 years compared to the original 21 years for the LSS4 project,” he said.

During the same event, Kamarulzaman shared M K Land’s recent achievement as the company was selected by the Energy Commission to become a solar power producer under the Corporate Green Power Purchase (CGPP) Program, with an allocated export capacity of nearly 30 megawatts (MW).

This collaborative project between M K Land and Total Energies Renewables SAS aims to develop a 29.99 MW PV power plant for commercial operation in Kulim, Kedah, by the end of 2025.
