Involvement Within MED4IRN Key To Elevating Digital Transformation

The Ministry of Economy functions as a facilitator for the country’s digital economy initiatives by coordinating cross-ministerial efforts through the 4th Digital Economy and Industrial Revolution Council (MED4IRN), chaired by the Prime Minister.

Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli said today (Aug 25) that through the MED4IRN framework, the government takes an integrated approach in developing a vibrant digital economic ecosystem. This is done through policy formation, implementation of initiatives, and funding involving both the public and private sectors.

The process of selecting council members is carried out through an open call. Experts and professionals from various sectors have submitted their nominations.

Their appointment is the result of the screening of thousands of applicants who responded to the Ministry of Economy’s invitation for the government committee to be joined by industry activists with expertise at all levels.

This council will be responsible for formulating policies, sharing expert advice, and guiding implementation at all levels of administration and economic sectors.

The importance of embracing digital transformation cannot be underestimated. The practice of digital transformation is no longer an option; it is a necessity to ensure economic growth, social well-being, and global competitiveness.

MED4IRN plays the role of setting the strategic direction and providing the necessary monitoring to make our country a digital-based economy.

MED4IRN is chaired by Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim along with key ministers among them being Rafizi, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Chang Lih Kang, Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri, Fahmi Fadzil and V. Sivakumar.

Among the other council members are Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Mohd Zuki Al,  Prof Madya Dr. Wan Wardatul Amani Wan Salim, Tan Sri Mohamad Salim Fateh Din, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh and a host of top corporate leaders.

MED4IRN is chaired by Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim along with 24 other council members which include key ministers among them being Rafizi, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Chang Lih Kang, Dato’ Sri Nancy Shukri, Fahmi Fadzil and V. Sivakumar.
