IGEM 2023 Prepares To Host 400 Exhibitors, 40,000 International Guests

The leading green technology event is about to kick off in October which is expected to host 40,000 visitors from over 40 countries at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 4th to 6th October 2023. IGEM 2023 is organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (NRECC) and with the help of the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation is in preparations with confirmed participation from leading corporations such as Solarvest Holdings Berhad, Samaiden Group Berhad, Polymateria Far East Private Limited, Cenergi SEA Berhad and Leader EV Solutions Sdn Bhd.

International participants include Arctech Solar (China), Phoenix Green Energy (Austria), International Science Council (France), and Saxon Renewable Pte. Ltd (Singapore). The exhibition will also feature pavilions for Austria and Canada. With a successful track record of RM41 billion in business leads, over 530,000 visitors and, including visitors from over 112 countries since 2010, IGEM 2023 themed “Race Towards Net Zero: Leadership for Climate Action”, targets RM4 billion in business leads, 400 exhibition booths and 40,000 visitors from over 40 countries.

Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister YB Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said, With around 3.3 billion people living in highly vulnerable contexts globally, ongoing climate change innovation, mitigation and adaptation continues to be paramount.

Preparations for the IGEM 2023 are in full force as Malaysia looks to host an impactful and insightful event that will offer a plethora of innovative technologies, products, and solutions to support climate action.

Seamlessly integrating exhibitors that demonstrate game-changing technology, insightful conferences, business matching and networking sessions, as well as participation from countries, high-profile visitors and several concurrent side-events into a singular platform, IGEM 2023 will play a decisive leadership role in accelerating and delivering the region’s Net Zero and Just Energy Transition agenda. We see events like this as crucial contributions to national, regional and global climate action,” he added.

The exhibition floor will be organised based on the sub-themes of Empowering Cities, Electrifying Mobility, Decarbonising Energy, Accelerating Circularity and Conserving Biodiversity. Numerous Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) will be signed between local and international parties, reinforcing their commitment to the regional green economy.

Some confirmed sponsors include Solarvest Energy Sdn Bhd, United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad and Samaiden Group Berhad, who are the silver sponsors. Cenergi SEA Berhad, Polymateria Far East Private Limited and Leader EV Solutions Sdn Bhd have been confirmed as the bronze sponsors.

Over the years, IGEM has become a point of convergence for the brightest minds in green technology and climate change.

In keeping with this, there will be several conferences on topics such as climate change, low-carbon cities, science innovation, hydrogen economy, waste management, circular economy, water, energy efficiency and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, which will be organised on an ongoing basis during the three-day event. Alongside this, the Canadian High Commission and Business Finland will conduct seminars and networking sessions, offering innovative ideas and solutions to the participants.

For the 14th consecutive year, IGEM will feature the much-in-demand business networking sessions organised by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC).
