Macao Chief Executive To Visit Malaysia

Sam Hou Fai, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), will lead a delegation of government officials and entrepreneurs on an official visit to Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia from Saturday to Sept. 5, the Macao SAR government information bureau said Friday.

The visit aims to strengthen Macao’s ties with Southeast Asian countries and promote practical cooperation in multiple areas, including economics and trade, science and technology, culture and tourism, and education, the SAR government said.

During the visit, the SAR government will hold trade, tourism and investment roadshows and business matchmaking activities. Sam will also meet with government officials of the three countries and representatives of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.

The delegation will also promote cooperation in cultural exchanges and higher education, while exploring development experience in areas including industrial parks, tourism and urban renewal, according to the information bureau.
