Bursa Mixed As Telecom, Media Stocks See Profit-Taking

Bursa Malaysia ended Monday’s morning trading session mixed due to mild profit-taking in selected telecommunications and media counters.

At 12.30pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) gained 0.35 of-a-point to 1,463.78 from 1,463.43 at last Friday’s close.

The key index, which opened 0.64 of-a-point firmer at 1,464.07, moved between 1,460.84 and 1,465.93 throughout the session.

However, the broader market was negative with decliners surpassing advancers 499 to 409, while 399 counters were unchanged, 1,017 untraded and 31 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.32 billion units worth RM1.21 billion.
