Sepang Identified For A 2000 Acre Selangor Aerospace Park

The state government will implement the Selangor Aerospace Park (SAP) development to turn Selangor into a global aerospace hub, mainly for Southeast Asia.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the park in Sepang will measure at 2,000 acres, and will be equipped with various aerospace engineering facilities.

“One of Selangor’s aspirations is strategically leading the aerospace industry via the Selangor First Plan (RS-1) and the Selangor Aerospace Action Plan.

Amirudin added that the aerospace industry can potentially drive Malaysia’s economic growth while simultaneously creating high-quality job opportunities.

“By 2030, I believe nearly 70 percent of the aviation industry in Malaysia will be based in Selangor,” he said.

NIMP 2030, one of the main components of the Madani Economy framework promoted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, aims to secure RM55.2 billion in industry revenue by 2030.

Its emphasis on innovation and technology in the aerospace sector will enhance the industry’s competitiveness and attract further investments and industry partnerships.
