Affin Bank Appoints Ex-Petronas VP Emeliana Dallan Rice-Oxley To The Board

Affin Bank has announced the appointment of Emeliana Dallan Rice-Oxley as its new non-executive independent director effective October 1.

Emeliana is well exposed to the global energy scene with 35 years of experience in the Exploration business with expertise in driving profitable growth in new geographies when she was at Petronas. She was instrumental in placing the group on the global exploration stage with key entries into selective basins of the Americas and West Africa. She has led venture execution in Asia, UK, West Africa, North and Latin America and oversaw 700 workforces.

She also led performance improvement through capability/talent development as part of business transformation, which included implementing innovative technology solutions that significantly reduced seismic processing turnaround time and improved hydrocarbon prediction. The business transformation and push for gender equity she undertook whilst in Petronas earned her the recognition of 2019 Female Executive of the Year by the Asia Pacific Energy Assembly and the 2022 Distinguished Achievements Award by the Offshore Technology Conference Asia. She has a strong operational foundation in Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), Sustainability, and Governance in ventures around the globe, with ShellL and Petronas.

Emeliana started her career at SHELL Malaysia in 1986 and has held various technical and managerial roles. Puan Emeliana led the SHELL Brazil Exploration team from 2006 to 2009 prior to being the Hydrocarbon Maturation Manager, Onshore US, and Latin America in 2010. Thereafter, she joined PETRONAS as the Senior General Manager of Exploration Malaysia in 2012 and was promoted to Vice President of Exploration Malaysia in 2014.

Her last executive position at Petronas was as the Vice President of Exploration, Upstream from 2016 to 2022. Currently, she is an Independent Non-Executive Director of Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad since 4 October 2022. She is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of PGS ASA, Norway since 26 April 2023. She is a member of the Business Advisory Board of Heriot-Watt University Malaysia the Advisory Board for the Womens Global Leadership Conference, Houston.
