Klang continues to record an unhealthy Air Pollution Index (API) as of 9 this morning with a reading of 154. According to the website of the Malaysian Air Pollution Index Management System (APIMS) of the Department of Environment, a total of 51 areas recorded API readings at a medium level (51-100) while another 16 areas recorded good IPU readings which were less than 50.
API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51-100 is moderate, 101-200 is unhealthy, 201-300 is very unhealthy and an IPU above 300 is dangerous. The IPU data is released every hour based on 68 air quality monitoring stations across the country.
