ACE-Market Bound Plytec Wins Contract To Turn Sarawak Into A Smart City

Plytec Holding Berhad (Plytec) announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary BIM Engineering Solution & Technology Sdn Bhd (BEST), has secured a contract from PPES Consults Sdn Bhd (PPES) to establish of a digital ecosystem in Sarawak today (Oct 27).

PPES is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC).

The company said the contract, which is for a period of 42 months, is to establish the digital ecosystem, driven by Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology, to facilitate the digital transformation of Sarawak.

The services to be provided by BEST include the standardisation of information management systems, provision of project implementation assistance, training, and capacity building to develop processes rooted in the concept of a digital twin for built assets, it added.

Plytec group managing director and chief executive officer Yang Kian Lock said in line with its goal to grow our digital design and engineering (DDE) solutions segment.

“We are pleased to provide our experience and capabilities in BIM to assist with the transformation of Sarawak into a smart city. This will create a more liveable, sustainable, and efficient urban environment,” he said.

Yang said being chosen by SEDC to impart the company’s BIM knowledge in building a digital ecosystem is an honour.

“It is a testament to our leadership in BIM and DDE solutions. We are thrilled to receive this contract from SEDC and would like to extend our appreciation for their trust in us,” he added.

SEDC is a state government agency with the primary mission of fostering and facilitating economic development within the state.
