Idea Company To Promote Dutch Smart Farming System In Indonesia

Idea Company Sdn Bhd (Idea Company) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Netherlands’ Hoogendoorn Automatisering B.V. (Hoogendoorn) for the exclusive distribution and support of Hoogendoorn’s smart farming systems in Indonesia.

“Under the terms of the MoU, Idea Company will undertake the sales, marketing, distribution, and support of Hoogendoorn’s smart farming systems in both countries,” the farm-to-fork solutions provider said.

Hoogendoorn’s climate control computers enable growers to practice smart precision farming by being able to manipulate, react to and control key growing parameters, providing an ideal environment for crop growth.

This cross-border collaboration provides a significant boost in ongoing collective efforts towards securing better food production as growers have access to smart farming tech solutions to thus help improve crop yields.

Idea Company group managing director Ahmad Zachary Aman said the company is excited to expand our collaboration with Hoogendoorn beyond Malaysia into Indonesia.

“There has been no doubt that our local growers who have started using Hoogendoorn’s systems have benefited from being able to make precise adjustments to their daily growing activities for better overall results.

“We are keen to bring these benefits together with Hoogendoorn into Indonesia but at the same time further build up our market presence here in Malaysia,” he said in a statement today (Nov 3).

He added: “Hoogendoorn is a world leader in this field, and their systems have been proven to help growers improve their efficiency, productivity, and profitability. We are confident that this partnership will be a major benefit to the agricultural sector in both countries.

Hoogedoorn representative Wierd Vonk said they are excited to expand into Indonesia after our earlier collaboration for Malaysia.

“Idea Company is a well-respected company with a strong track record in the agricultural technology sector. We are confident that they are the ideal partner to help us bring our smart farming technology to growers in these two important markets,” he added.

The MoU was signed at the Sheraton PJ Hotel in Petaling Jaya on Oct 31, 2023, witnessed by The Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte and the Investment, Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Liew Chin Tong.

Idea Company’s local expertise and experience will be essential in supporting growers to adopt and implement Hoogendoorn’s systems, which are already in use at its JustGood Farm in Selangor.

The JustGood Farm in Bestari Jaya use smart farming precision technology at its greenhouses, including Hoogendorn’s system.
