Over 100,000 In Waiting List For Selangor’s Affordable Home Program

Selangor’s affordable home program, Rumah Selangorku has a total of 113,318 applications listed in the waiting list category so far, said the housing EXCO.

Borhan Aman Shah said it is the total number of applications that are still actively registered in the Selangor Property Application System and have not yet been offered to buyers. “That amount is still low compared to the number of Rumah Selangorku units approved by the State Government which is 180,000 units,” he said.

The exco said this during a winding-up session of the Supply Bill 2024 (Selangor Budget 2024) at the Selangor State Assembly today. Commenting further, Borhan said the State Government through the Selangor Housing and Real Estate Board provides guidelines and conditions for ownership of Rumah Selangorku.

“It includes applicants or couples who do not own a house either through a government or private project in Selangor. “In addition, it also involves several categories, namely type A housing applications (husband and wife household income does not exceed RM3,500) and type B (husband and wife household income does not exceed RM7,000). “Type C (household income of husband and wife does not exceed RM10,000) and types D, E, and Special E (household income of husband and wife does not exceed RM14,500),” he said.

Selangor’s affordable house program is a collaborative effort between the state and private developers where they come together to assist the government in building houses with land provided by the state. Sometimes the cost of construction is defrayed with land exchange.
