Bursa Turns Lower At Midday

Bursa Malaysia turned lower at midday on Tuesday, weighed down by profit-taking that emerged in most indices, following the mild bargain-hunting seen earlier in the morning.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI was 0.88 of a point lower at 1,447.27, from Monday’s closing at 1,448.15.

The barometer index opened 2.04 points better at 1,450.19, and moved between 1,446.68 and 1,452.60 throughout the morning session.

Market breadth was negative, with losers leading gainers at 520 to 284, while 397 counters were unchanged, 1,209 untraded, and 72 others suspended.

Turnover stood at 2.15 billion units valued at RM975.17 million, Bernama reported.
