Ageson Sees Boardroom Changes; Appoints Wong You King As New Executive Director

Ageson Bhd, which has been classified as a Practice Note 17 (PN17) company last month, announced a slew of changes in its boardroom.

In multiple Bursa listings today (Dec 7), the group involved in construction and property development announced the appointment of David Wong You King as the group’s new executive director effective today.

Wong has more than 24 years of working experience in large and complex project management, design engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning and maintenance support, to name a few.

“(Besides that, he also has experience in) identifying and planning upgrade of equipment of the heavy industry, Oil & Gas upstream and midstream industry, complex petrochemical plant, refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID).

“He plays an important role in the management and execution projects in the above industries,” it said.

Wong, 51, studied engineering, and holds Bachelor of Science in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from Robert Gordon University, United Kingdom as well as received Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems from UKM.

He has been a Technologist member of the Institution of Engineers, Australia since 2005.

Wong will be replacing Datuk Sri Chin Kok Foong and Datuk Seri Liew Kok Leong, who both helmed the executive director position. Liew, 50, is also the executive director of ARB Bhd.

Chin, 46, resigned from the executive director position effective today, citing it is due to personal commitment. He has a direct interest with over 19.7 million ordinary shares in Ageson.

Meanwhile, Datuk Sri Liew Kok Leong, 50, has been redesignated to non executive director (non independent) , from the executive director position, which also take into effect today.

His redesignation fills Tajul Arifin Mohd Tahir’s spot who resigned from non-executive director (independent) from the position, also citing personal commitment behind the reason of his departure.

Tajul Ariffin, 56, also resigned from being a member of Audit Committee effective today.

Following his resignation from the committee, Datuk Md Nasir Ibrahim, 60, who is a non-executive director (independent) of the board has been appointed to as the new member of Audit Committee.

Last February, Ageson has reportedly denied allegation of Chin’s purported involvement of fraudulent documents in 2019 and 2018, saying that it believed that the allegation was targeted at him personally.
