MOHR Threatens Legal Action On SOCSO Hackers

The Ministry of Human Resources has announced that they are currently working on mitigating the recent cyber attack on the Social Security Organization (Perkeso), where the infrastructure’s vulnerability was breached. The recovery process is underway, and Minister Sivakumar has stated that the government will take severe legal action against those responsible once they are traced.

The agency has implemented multiple layers of protection in collaboration with security experts to prevent future incidents. Furthermore, forensic evidence has been collected and provided to the appropriate authorities for further investigation. The Ministry, on the other hand, is conducting an investigation to determine if any elements of commercial crime are involved in the incident.

There are a lot of rumors circulating on social media regarding the cause of the disruption in the services of SOCSO. Some of these rumors claim that the disruption was due to sabotage. However, the Ministry has requested the public to stop spreading these baseless theories which could create unrest within the community. Instead, it has asked everyone to allow the internal forensic investigation team to complete their investigation. The main goal of SOCSO is to provide social protection services to the public without being affected by cyber attacks that disrupt its functions.

The ministry has also assured that the parties responsible will face legal action.”
