Chairman Tun Richard Malanjum Retires From Berjaya Land

Berjaya Land Berhad’s chairman Tun Richard Malanjum has gone into retirement effective today (Dec 12).

With the retirement, Richard, 71, who is an independent and non-executive chairman, also left his position as the Risk Management Committee chairman, according to a Bursa filing today.

“A new member and Risk Management Committee chairman will be identified in due course,” it said.

The other committee member is Datuk Kee Mustafa and Tang Peng Lam, who are both independent and non-executive director of the board.

He was said to left his post as the Remuneration Committee chairman on March 1.

Richard was the appointed as Berjaya Land’s chairman on Dec 9, 2019, following the retirement of Tan Sri Razman Md Hashim Che Din Md Hashim.

He was a jurist and lawyer who served as the ninth Chief Justice of Malaysia, the highest judicial officer in Malaysia, between July 2018 to April 13, 2019 and he served as the fourth Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak between 2006 to 2018.

Before joining the judicial service, he was a practicing lawyer and Sabah Law Association president.
