Sivakumar Dropped, Three Former Ministers Return In New Cabinet Formation

Three former ministers are back as members of the cabinet in the first reshuffle of the unity government under the administration of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In today’s press conference, Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad returned to his old portfolio as health minister, which he held from 2018 to 2020. The Kuala Selangor MP replaces Dr Zaliha Mustafa who currently holds a new position as minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territory). Damansara Member of Parliament Gobind Singh Deo was appointed as the digital minister. The DAP deputy chairman used to hold the portfolio of communications and digital minister from 2018 to 2020.

Meanwhile, Titiwangsa representative Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani was appointed as the minister of plantations and commodities which was previously held by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Sri Fadillah Yusof. The Umno vice president previously held the position of second finance minister from 2016 to 2018 and deputy finance minister from 2015 to 2016.

Additionally, Anwar also announced Steven Sim Chee Keong as the minister of human resources, while Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, who was appointed senator, held the position of finance minister II.

Sivakumar who helmed the MOHR seat has been now left out the cabinet.
