Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad Prioritises Fundamental Hospital Issues

In assuming his role as the new Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad is wasting no time in addressing critical issues within hospital systems, employing targeted policies to confront prevailing challenges.

Dr. Dzulkefly underscored the collaborative nature of this initiative, involving Deputy Ministers, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry, and the Director-General of Health in a united effort.

“My primary focus is the immediate resolution of challenges tied to acute care in hospitals, with a specific emphasis on fundamental hospital issues. However, optimal solutions are impeded by delivery methods. Therefore, both aspects, namely the system and delivery, will be addressed with the right policies,” he asserted, in a report by Kosmo!.

Dr. Dzulkefly kicked off his ministerial responsibilities symbolically by registering his presence at the Ministry’s time recording system in Putrajaya.

Elaborating on his vision, Dr. Dzulkefly outlined plans for a comprehensive transformation, incorporating digitalization, Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and strategic financial allocations within the healthcare sector.

Appointed as part of the Unity Government Cabinet by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Dr. Dzulkefly succeeds Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, who assumes a new role as the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories).
