Garmin Latest Software Updates Include Nap Detection

Garmin Malaysia has recently announced a series of feature-rich software updates for a range of its smartwatches, offering users an enhanced experience and additional tools to better understand and optimize their health and fitness journey.

The software upgrades are available for various models, including the Enduro 2, epix (Gen 2) series, fēnix 7 series, Forerunner series, Venu 3 series, and more.

The free software release introduces several notable features aimed at providing users with comprehensive insights into their well-being and elevating their training regimens. Among the highlights are:

  1. Nap Detection: Users can now automatically track or log their naps, gaining valuable insights into how these short breaks may benefit their body. The feature also suggests optimal nap times and durations.
  2. Skin Temperature: By wearing the watch during sleep, users can observe changes in average skin temperature over time. This data may offer insights into recent activities, sleep environments, potential illnesses, and more.
  3. Body Battery Energy Monitoring Enhancements: This update provides users with detailed personal insights into how sleep, naps, daily activities, and stress impact their energy levels. A daily summary is also offered, recapping energy use throughout the day.
  4. Wrist-based Running Dynamics: Crucial running metrics, such as cadence, stride length, and ground contact time, are now measured to help users improve their running form.
  5. Wrist-based Running Power: Users can now manage effort and fine-tune training based on the amount of power their body is applying during a run.
  6. Ski Activity Enhancement: Ski enthusiasts can continuously record entire activities, even while on a chairlift or during downhill runs, providing a more accurate recording of metrics like heart rate, activity time, and elevation.
  7. Smart Notification Images: Android smartphone users with compatible devices can view received photos directly on their watch screens.
  8. Face It Improvements: The Face It feature in the Connect IQ™ app has been enhanced to allow users to add even more data to customizable analog or digital watch faces.

The software updates have begun rolling out to compatible devices. Users can easily update their smartwatches by enabling automatic updates from their device and syncing with Garmin Connect™ or by utilizing Garmin Express™.

These additions reaffirm Garmin’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge features and functionalities, empowering users on their fitness and wellness journeys.
