Malaysia Urged To Embrace Risks For New Economic Future, Says Tengku Zafrul

Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, has emphasised the importance of Malaysia taking calculated risks for a new economic future.

“2024 is an important year to build on the foundations we have laid,” he said on his social media account on Sunday, according to Bernama.

He highlighted the need to focus on the digital and green economies, making investment and trade the primary drivers of economic growth.

Tengku Zafrul outlined key priorities for the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI) in 2024, including the execution of national plans and the commitment to explaining the rationale behind decisions to the public.

Reflecting on 2023, he stressed the importance of building a more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable economic future for Malaysia.

The minister urged Malaysians to adopt “moonshot thinking” aiming for seemingly impossible goals to strengthen the country’s economic prospects and provide opportunities for the youth.
