Chery Malaysia Forges Strategic Alliances With CARSOME and CARSOME Academy

Chery Malaysia takes a leap into innovation and enhanced customer satisfaction through two significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signings with CARSOME and CARSOME Academy. The collaboration’s focal points include transforming vehicle trade-ins and elevating soft skills within the Chery representative network.

CARSOME streamlines the trade-in process for new Chery customers, offering a seamless experience at their showroom. Customers opting for a trade-in can have CARSOME conduct a vehicle inspection at their preferred location, receive a prompt trade-in offer, and seamlessly transition to their new Chery vehicle.

This strategic partnership aims to redefine the automotive landscape, providing customers with unparalleled transparency, convenience, and value in their car ownership journey. The MoU was signed by Chery Auto Malaysia Vice President Lee Wen Hsiang and CARSOME Country Managing Director (Malaysia) Chris Ang Tee Wei during Chery’s Annual Business Briefing in Kuala Lumpur.

CARSOME extends further support with a special campaign for Chery dealers, offering an additional RM500 on top of the trade-in-offer price for customers trading in their vehicles from January 15 to February 15, 2024.

Simultaneously, the second MoU focuses on enhancing soft skills within Chery’s representative network. Chery Auto Malaysia’s Network Development Director, Soon Boon Ping, and Jiun Ee Teoh, Co-founder of CARSOME and CEO of CARSOME Academy, formalised the agreement.

The agreement emphasises:

  • Upskilling Workforce: Elevating Chery’s existing and new workforce through specialized training programs.
  • Peneraju Skil Motor Vehicle Inspection Programme: Extending the program to enhance the skills and knowledge of Chery’s workforce.
  • Training & Placements: Providing on-the-job training and work placements at Chery for CARSOME Academy students.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Engaging in mutually agreed marketing initiatives.

Chery Auto Malaysia Vice President Lee Wen Hsiang highlighted the timeliness of these collaborations as Chery Malaysia’s customer base has grown since its debut in July last year. The partnerships become crucial with the increasing number of customers seeking to trade in their old cars for a new Chery vehicle.

“The collaboration with CARSOME will be beneficial and important for our dealers, especially  with the increase in customers who seek to trade in their old cars for a new Chery vehicle,”  he said.

Eric Cheng, Co-founder and CEO of CARSOME, expressed the commitment to providing trust, transparency, and choice to customers, enhancing the car buying and selling experience. The collaboration represents a milestone in expanding their network and touchpoints, aligning with the mission to offer the best car ownership experience.

“At CARSOME, we aim to collaborate with more automotive manufacturers as part of our  commitment to offering trust, transparency, and choice to customers, enhancing the car  buying and selling experience. Our collaboration with Chery is a step forward in that  direction; it represents a milestone in expanding our network and touchpoints, furthering our  mission to provide the best car ownership experience,” he said.
