Former Dewan Negara president Datuk Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar who has been conferred the title Tun has been appointed the eight Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sarawak.
He will be replacing Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud 87 whose term expired yesterday, he was also the premier of Sarawak.
The appointment will take effect immediately.
