AFFIN Group (Affin) hosted the Malaysia Market Outlook 2024: Propelling Malaysia Forward at the Menara AFFIN, Tun Razak Exchange. This year, it once  again presented a diverse range of panel discussions, offering insightful forecasts that bring together  the perspectives of industry trailblazers to chart the course for Malaysia’s economic future.

The conference offered in-depth insights into specialised subjects, featuring fourteen top speakers  across six sessions. These sessions delved into highly pressing topics and current trends, providing  valuable guidance for businesses and individuals navigating the dynamic financial landscape.

The event featured notable speakers addressing various topics, including a special address by Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak and the keynote address by Encik Adnan Zaylani bin Mohamad Zahid, Deputy Governor of Bank  Negara Malaysia.

Other speakers include Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Malaysia Managing Director & Partner Nurlin Salleh who featured insight on ‘Steering through the Uncertain Future’,  Dr. Tricia Yeoh, CEO,  Institute of Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS), Dr. Muhammed Abdul Khalid, Research  Fellow Institute of Malaysian and International Studies, UKM, Lee Heng Guie, Executive  Director, Socio Economic Research Centre (SERC).

A forum discussion on “Enhancing Sustainable Communities” by Emeliana Dallan Rice-Oxley,  Independent Non-Executive Director, Affin Bank Berhad, Lim Chern Yuan, Group CEO, Yinson Holdings Berhad,  Latifah Yusof, Head, Group Corporate Finance & Treasury at  Malaysia Airlines, Mr. Robert Hardin, Chief Executive Officer of SEDC Energy, also took the stage.

The topic of Exploration of the Sarawak Economic and Development Plan unfolded on the renowned  Keluar Sekejap podcast, hosted by Khairy Jamaluddin (KJ), Associate Senior Fellow at Yusof  Ishak Institute (ISEAS) and Shahril Hamdan, Founder and Managing Director of Watchtower Advisory.

The one-day event saw over 500 key industry players and stakeholders exchanging ideas and  exploring innovative solutions that would be able to propel Malaysia forward.
