Selangor Projects 6000 Affordable Homes Completed This Year

Selangor State housing Exco said nearly 6,000 units of Rumah Selangorku, involving 21 housing projects across the state, are expected to be completed this year.

This includes the Rumah Idaman Bandar Saujana Putra project developed by Seribu Baiduri Sdn Bhd in Kuala Langat, which consists of 1,312 units.

“All the projects have been progressing smoothly over the past few years now, and we project half of them will be completed in the first six months of this year.

Upon completion, we will expedite the process of handing over keys to the owners,” he said when contacted today.

“The state government is also focusing on redeveloping abandoned houses as well as repairing and upgrading facilities in people’s housing projects.”

From 2014 until the end of last year, the state government had approved the development of  245,371 units of Rumah Selangorku.

According to Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari, a total of 57,185 of these residential units have already been, or are being, developed by the Selangor Housing and Property Board (LPHS), as well as other private developers and state government subsidiaries.

The remaining 188,186 units are in the process of obtaining development planning approvals from state technical departments and agencies as well as local authorities.

In January last year, Amirudin had said that the state aims to deliver 60,000 units of the ongoing Rumah Selangorku 3.0 initiative by 2025.

The selling prices offered for the project start from RM114,750 per unit up to RM250,000 per unit, including legal costs, memorandum of transfer, and maintenance costs for two years covered by the developer.

In April, Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said some 6,000 Rumah Selangorku units that were under development at several strategic locations in the state are expected to be completed by this and next year.

Other than the Bandar Saujana Putra project, the construction of the affordable homes are located in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam; Cybersouth, Dengkil; Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor and Taman Air Manis, Sabak Bernam.
