1.2 Million Civil Servants Have Registred With Padu, Says Mohd Uzir

During a briefing on Padu provided to the Orang Asli community in Kampung Sungai Penjuring, Chief Statistician Datuk Seri Mohd Uzir Mahidin announced that 1.2 million, or 80 percent, of the 1.5 million civil servants have successfully registered with the Central Database Hub (Padu) system as of today.

Expressing gratitude for the exemplary cooperation shown by civil servants, Mohd Uzir commended their commitment, and extended congratulations to those who promptly participated in the Padu registration. “Congratulations to all who have participated in ensuring that civil servants can be among the first in Padu registration…and for those who have yet to register, probably due to work constraints, we will try to help them.”

Furthermore, he assured those who have yet to register, likely due to work constraints, that efforts would be made to facilitate their registration process.

Previously, it was reported that all civil servants were mandated to register and update their data with Padu by February 15 at the latest. As of yesterday, a total of 3.43 million individuals have updated their information in the Padu system.

Addressing the involvement of the Orang Asli community in Padu registration, Mohd Uzir highlighted that more than half of the approximately 220,000 Orang Asli have already registered, attributing this achievement to the commendable cooperation from the Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa). He anticipated the completion of registration for Pahang’s Orang Asli, the largest community with over 80,000 individuals, within the next week or two, with Terengganu’s Padu registration of Orang Asli nearing completion as well.

Emphasising the importance of community engagement, Mohd Uzir stressed that every individual plays a crucial role in the inclusive development of the country. He commended the Orang Asli community for their proactive approach in encouraging one another to register with Padu.

Meanwhile, in Pahang, 209 physical counters have been established across various locations, facilitating the updating of information for more than 184,822 individuals on the Padu system. Additionally, Pahang DOSM has conducted over 1,000 field trips to provide assistance and information to locals for updating their information on Padu.

The Padu system, launched on January 2, allows Malaysians aged 18 and above to register and update their personal information until March 31. Mohd Uzir urged the public to register promptly to avoid system congestion, reminding them that there are more than 40 days left to complete the registration process.
