Johor Secures RM168 Million For Road Upgrades

Several roads in Johor, including the Johor Bahru-Mersing Road, are set to undergo upgrades and repairs following flood damage, with an allocated budget of RM168 million approved at the federal level.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi announced via Facebook that among the allocations are RM120 million for the elevation of the FT003 route, namely the Johor Bahru-Mersing Road; RM39 million for repairing roads damaged by the Northeast Monsoon floods in 2023/2024, and RM9 million for fixing the Felda Ulu Tebrau Road.

“The Johor State Government will continue to collaborate with the Federal Government and strive to upgrade road facilities and infrastructure for the comfort and safety of users. I am very grateful for the concern of the Ministry of Works (KKR) for approving several projects in Johor. Alhamdulillah, thank you to the Minister, Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, for accepting my courtesy call and delegation yesterday,” he said.

He also expressed hope that the Ministry of Works will consider other requests in preparation for the implementation of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JSSEZ) and the Johor Visit Year 2026 agenda.
