KL Kepong Berhad has informed the redesignation of Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Lee Oi Hian as the group’s Executive Chairman from his previous post as Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect.
Tan Sri Lee joined Kuala Lumpur Kepong Berhad in 1974 as an executive and was subsequently appointed to the Board of KLK on 1 February 1985. In 1993, he was appointed as the Group’s Chairman/Chief Executive Officer and held the position until 2008, when he relinquished his role as Chairman, but remained as Executive Director and CEO of the Group.
He is the brother of Dato’ Lee Hau Hian, a Director and major shareholder of KLK, and the father of Mr. Lee Jia Zhang, the Chief Operating Officer/Executive Director of KLK. He is deemed connected with Batu Kawan Berhad, one of the major shareholders of KLK.
