AirAsia continues to enhance its India-Malaysia air connectivity with the introduction of its latest route from the southern Indian city of Thiruvananthapuram. This new route marks AirAsia’s second direct connection to the state of Kerala, following the success of its route to Kochi.

Operating four times weekly, the Thiruvananthapuram route offers travelers an array of opportunities to explore Kerala’s rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural landscapes.

Often referred to as ‘God’s Own Country,’ Thiruvananthapuram boasts architectural wonders, delectable Kerala cuisine, pristine beaches, and vibrant local markets.

To commemorate this milestone, passengers aboard the inaugural flight, AK8, received a warm welcome from distinguished guests including the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Datuk Sri Tiong King Sing, and AirAsia Aviation Group CEO, Bo Lingam.

Expressing his appreciation, Datuk Sri Tiong King Sing commended AirAsia for its commitment to expanding air connectivity between Malaysia and India, particularly following the recent announcement of visa-free entry for Indian nationals to Malaysia. Bo Lingam echoed these sentiments, expressing delight in welcoming travelers from Thiruvananthapuram and highlighting AirAsia’s dedication to revolutionizing travel in India over the past 15 years.

AirAsia’s extensive network now includes 10 international routes directly connecting India to Malaysia, with a total of 56 weekly flights operated by short-haul airline AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK) and medium-haul affiliate airline AirAsia X Malaysia (flight code D7). This continued growth ensures a seamless travel experience for AirAsia’s guests across India, offering access to the widest low-cost network in Asia.
